There was recently some debate on a visualization that Ben Fry (a famous
visualization researcher) created for GE that shows the costs to the health
industry based on age and the type of disease (original visualization here.

The assignment was to grab the data from a .csv file and use it in some kind of visualization. Data is available here.

In order to create a visualization tool that would help users easily understand a large data set Parallel Coordinates was used to quickly give the users a view of how the variables are associated and by selecting and moving the variables the impact these have can clearly be seen.
